Mexican architect and World Economic Forum “Global Leader of Tomorrow”, Fernando Romero, Hon. FAIA, will deliver a lecture for the LACMA Distinguished Architects Lecture Series on September 19th at 7:30 pm.
A graduate of Mexico’s Universidad Iberoamericana, Romero worked in Paris under Jean Nouvel and in Rotterdam under Rem Koolhaas. In 1999, Fernando Romero served as the project leader on the winning entry for Casa da Música in Porto, Portugal, located on a Unesco Heritage Site. In 2000, Fernando founded FR-EE / Fernando Romero Enterprise in Mexico followed by an office in New York City.
FR-EE’s projects translate contemporary moments of society and culture into built form, achieving ground-breaking results through extensive technological advancements, research, and implementation of green infrastructures. Romero, associated with renowned British architect Lord Norman Foster, has been selected to design the New International Airport for Mexico City, which will be the most sustainable airport in the world.
