What the judges said:

“Sustainability is not just about protecting our fragile environment, but includes the financial sustainability of home owners and the stability of neighborhoods. This competition asked designers across the world to use their great creativity to address critical social, economic, and environmental challanges faced by many here and across the Gulf Coast.”
- Bryan Bell

“It’s heartening to see so many entrants aware that ‘sustainable’ means not only environmental sustainability but also economic and social sustainability.”
- Michael Pyatok
