Entrants will submit a detailed design and energy performance documentation for a Zero Net Energy mixed-use affordable housing project. Details on submission requirements and project criteria can be found at www.architectureatzero.com
Where:
Following previous years’ successful Architecture at Zero competitions that envisioned a zero net energy future for an urban infill site in Emeryville, CA (2011), and last year’s competition focusing on the next phase of campus planning at the newest University of California campus, UC Merced (2012), this year’s competition will focus on the development of a mixed-use residential building in one of the densest neighborhoods, the Tenderloin, of San Francisco, CA.
Timeline:
Site Tour for Entrants—Summer 2013; To Be Announced
Submissions due—October 1 at 1:00 pm
Jury & Announcement—November 7th + 8th
Exhibition—winners exhibition at AIA San Francisco November 12th—December 20th
Entry Fees:
Students: $30 entry fee + Free Board Printing
Professionals: $100 entry fee + $115 Board Printing
Professional entrants who register before August 1st will receive a discount of 15% off of entry fees. This discount does not apply to board printing fees.
