The Harvard Graduate School of Design is pleased to announce the third edition of the Wheelwright Prize, a $100,000 travel-based research grant awarded annually to early-career architects who have demonstrated exceptional design talent, produced work of scholarly and professional merit, and who show promise for continued creative work. Through this international open competition, Harvard GSD hopes encourage new forms of research informed by cross-cultural engagement. We seek individual applicants (no teams or firms) who are accomplished but emerging, who are resourceful and risk-taking, and who can make the most of this extraordinary opportunity—to have the time, peace of mind, and resources to construct a research project that will have an impact on his or her own practice, and potentially on the discipline of architecture as a whole. Applicants must have received a degree from a professionally accredited architecture program in the past 15 years (2000 or later).
PLEASE NOTE REVISED DEADLINES: Registration deadline is January 23, 2015, and deadline for all submissions is February 9 (midnight Eastern Standard Time).
For more details about the prize, visit wheelwrightprize.org or send inquiries to [email protected].
