CALLING architects, artists, engineers to submit proposal
for sustainable studio/living units at ASsociety’s meadow farmland.

Andes, New York – Andes Sprouts Society (ASsociety) is pleased to announce an architecture and design competition for immediate release. Submissions from architects both locally and abroad will be accepted until February 15, 2009. The winning Design will be realized on ASsociety’s farm with completion expected in Summer 2009.

Based on the concept ‘small is beautiful’ (300sft), selected designs will address program needs for both residency and farm operations. ASsociety resident artists will be engaged in developing media art projects with crossover activities in emergent technologies and organic farming. Andes Sprouts Society(registered NY State not-for profit) works toward the exchange of knowledge and labor of urban gardening and field farming, the sustainability of the land, while engaging artists and the international perspective on eco-bio issues. ASsociety farm sits on 21 acres in New York’s Delaware county within the Catskill Mountain Region/ NYC Watershed.
