After The Flood: Building on Higher Ground

Saturday, Apr 19, 20081 AM — Saturday, Jun 28, 20081 AMEDT

Los Angeles, CA | Los Angeles, CA

Featuring Graft works: The Pink Project and Make it Right Thursday, April 17, 2008 Time: 6:00pm - 9:00pm Location: A+D Architecture and Design Museum, Los Angeles Street: 5900 Wilshire Boulevard City/Town: Los Angeles, CA Over the last two years we have been participating in an initiative lead by the Make It Right Foundation to rebuild the Lower 9th Ward in New Orleans. Graft would like to bring the opening of the ‘AFTER THE FLOOD: building on HIGHER GROUND’ exhibition at the A+D museum in Los Angeles to your attention. In cooperation with MIR, Graft developed the framework for a group of international architects to give the community the possibility to move back into green and affordable housing. We also initiated and realized the hugely successful fundraiser PINK PROJECT in order to help with the financing of the redevelopment of the community. Both of these projects will be a part of the exhibition. It would be great to see you at the opening gala reception on April 17th. The ticket price is $15 in advance or $25 at the door. A portion of the proceeds from this evening will be shared with the Make It Right Foundation. RSVP www.aplusd.org
