Archtober (ärk'tôbər), New York City's annual Architecture and Design Month, is now in its fifth year! The festival of architecture activities, programs, and exhibitions will take place from October 1-31, 2015. This year's festival theme is "5 Years, 5 Boroughs." A celebration of the impact of design, Archtober is a major draw for archi-tourists and city dwellers alike. As always, Archtober will be headquartered at the Center for Architecture on LaGuardia Place in Greenwich Village, where the Archtober Lounge awaits festival-goers with guides and program information, and a calendar designed by Pentagram. Archtober’s curated calendar will feature more than 150 architecture and design lectures, conferences, programs, and exhibitions happening at the Center for Architecture and collaborating institutions across the city. In addition, this year Archtober will offer a satellite lounge location in Lower Manhattan. Highlights of Archtober 2015 include the ever-popular "Building of the Day" lunchtime tours, one for each day of the month, often guided by the architects themselves. One of the festival’s distinctive features is the breadth of its collaborating organizations, and many are returning for 2015. The diversity of these organizations captures the unique spirit of New York’s design world.
