Time: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Lord Norman Foster and his engineering partner Roger Ridsdill Smith will discuss how the engineering marvels of Rafael Guastavino Sr. and Jr. paved the way for buildings, bridges, flying machines, and inventions of all kinds at “Innovators with Norman Foster: From Guastavino to the Moon.” This program is organized in conjunction with the recently opened exhibition Palaces for the People: Guastavino and the Art of Structural Tile, which is on view at the City Museum through Sunday, September 7, 2014. Seating is limited to 175 people and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets are $10 and free for City Museum members, AIANY members, and students. Visit aiany.org to purchase tickets.
