bel-air / New York Memo 5pm workshop, 7pm performance, $5 donation for the installation, $10 for workshop (tickets here, space is limited) Using field recordings taken around New York City by DJs from Greg Ruben's Brooklyn based internet radio program, "bel-air", the DJs will create an installation of NYC's sonic environment in La Cage's courtyard. The recordings, which were mostly captured surreptitiously using the iPhone's Voice Memos app, will be presented in a longform, looping, multi-channel format. At times loud and chaotic, other times uncannily peaceful, each listener's experience is unique depending on their location in the courtyard, and how the different channels happen to be in their individual loop cycles. For more info & updates, RSVP on the Facebook event. + Ear Cleaning workshop [$10 RSVP, 15 max] Refresh your critical listening faculties with Greg Ruben.
