Theme: Exhibition and Experience Design Explore new directions in exhibition design, navigate new design processes, experience dynamic discussions, and see cutting edge methodologies. This symposium, serving the unique needs of the world of exhibition design and brand environments, is the premier event for any designer, client, or fabricator involved in museums, aquariums and zoos, heritage areas, trade shows, themed environments, store environments, or corporate environments. Innovation Innovation is not merely the smooth upward trajectory of new ideas and technologies. It is the result of hard work within a diverse community. It can include small improvements and massive leaps. This year's symposium focuses on how innovation works in the interpretation and exhibition community, and how innovation is incorporated into practice. Symposium themes include collaboration, design approaches, technologies, and strategies. The symposium brings design leaders from around the country and includes corporate leaders, museum executives, technology developers, designers, and academic leaders. All attendees participate in the discussions, design exercises, and case studies. The resulting dialogue will be captured in a digital and print workbook, which will be available after the event. The symposium, held at the Cranbrook Academy of Art and Design, among the most beautiful retreat environments in the country, is limited to 30 professionals. Three student scholarships are available.
