One design charrette, two hours, five jurors, one great conversation On Saturday, June 7th, come to 3rd Ward in Brooklyn at 195 Morgan Ave. from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm and participate in a sketch problem and open forum with Philip Nobel, Omar Freilla, Granger Moorhead, Robert Moorhead, and Elizabeth Royte to hear your work discussed. According to PlaNYC 2030, the population of New York City will grow by one million people within the next two decades. Here's your chance to respond by rethinking an inevitable material and physical result of this projected increase. A design problem will be given to participants promptly at 3:00 pm to solve in roughly two hours. All work will then be pinned up and the invited jury will hold an open discussion and critique with participants. A critical conversation will emerge from the work generated and the questions posed by the original brief. The charrette is aimed at young designers five years or less out of school; whether you are a graphic, industrial, fashion designer, artist, architect, or planner, Design in 5 invites you to attend. Refreshments will be available. You may participate as an individual or as a team of up to three people. Reservations for participation are required; post-charrette discussion will be open to all. RSVP by emailing [email protected] or call 212.753.1722. Admission to Sketch120 is $10 at the door; Architectural League members receive free admission. Design in 5 and the Architectural League wish to thank 3rd Ward for hosting the event: http://www.3rdward.com. Sketch 120 is brought to you by Design in 5. Design in 5 is a new group of the Architectural League of New York, targeting designers of all disciplines 5 years or less out of school. Design in 5 responds to this youngest group of designers, providing unique opportunities and activities for exchanging ideas across disciplines, fostering camaraderie, and above all, having fun. http://www.archleague.org/index-dynamic.php?show=766
