Final Call: Enter the World Architecture Festival 2026 Awards by 15 May

By Sponsor|

Monday, May 4, 2026

Time is almost up for this year’s World Architecture Festival Awards. The final entry deadline is 15 May, and for practices considering submission, this is the last opportunity to be part of one of the most visible global platforms for architecture.

WAF has built its reputation not just on scale, but on how it presents architecture. It is not a closed-door awards programme. It is a live stage.

Shortlisted architects present their projects in person to an international panel of judges, in front of a room filled with peers. It is a format that puts ideas, process, and intent under direct scrutiny. Projects are not only shown. They are explained, defended, and discussed.

That difference still matters.

In a profession saturated with images, WAF creates a moment where architecture is communicated in full. Not just what a building looks like, but how it works, what it responds to, and why it was made.

Find out about the entry process

A global platform with real reach

Being part of WAF brings immediate visibility. Shortlisted and winning projects are published and shared across international media, reaching audiences far beyond the festival itself. Recent editions have generated hundreds of articles worldwide, putting projects in front of millions of readers.

For many practices, that exposure translates directly into opportunity. New clients, new collaborators, and new markets often follow.

The audience at the festival reflects that reach. Architects, directors, and decision-makers from leading firms gather in one place, creating a concentrated network that is difficult to replicate elsewhere .

Back in the USA

WAF returns to the United States for its second year, taking place at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale from 18 to 20 November 2026 .

Following a strong debut, the return signals continued momentum in North America while maintaining WAF’s global perspective. The festival remains international in outlook, bringing together projects from across continents and contexts.

A snapshot of architecture now

The awards programme spans a wide range of categories, covering completed buildings, future projects, interiors, and landscape . It reflects the full scope of contemporary practice, from large-scale infrastructure to small, highly focused interventions.

For completed buildings, projects completed between early 2025 and mid-2026 are eligible, ensuring the programme captures current work and current thinking.

Alongside the main categories, special prizes recognise themes such as sustainability, material use, and innovation. These create additional pathways for recognition at no extra cost and highlight the issues shaping architecture today.

The deadline is real

The early and standard deadlines have passed. 15 May is the final cutoff .

After that, entries close. There are no extensions.

For practices still considering submission, the decision now is simple. Enter or miss the cycle.

Waiting has consequences. Projects may fall outside eligibility next year. Momentum is lost. The chance to position work within this year’s global conversation disappears.

There is still time to act

WAF’s entry process is designed to be flexible. Submissions can be saved and refined, allowing teams to build and improve their material right up to the deadline.

Perfection is not the requirement. Clarity is.

What matters is presenting a project in a way that communicates its ideas, its impact, and its relevance. Strong storytelling, clear visuals, and a focused narrative carry weight.

Why enter now

At its core, WAF is about participation.

It is about putting work forward and placing it within a wider context. It is about testing ideas against an international audience and seeing how they stand up.

For some, the goal is recognition. For others, it is exposure, feedback, or connection. In every case, it is an opportunity to step onto a global stage.

That opportunity closes on 15 May.

For practices with projects ready to share, this is the moment to act.
