Trans Siberian Pit Stops

Registration Deadline:  Wednesday, Sep 28, 201611:59 PMBST

Submission Deadline:  Wednesday, Oct 19, 201611:59 PMBST

The Trans Siberian Pit Stops architecture competition is calling for submissions for a tourist centre that can be replicated along the world famous train route. Organised in cooperation with CDS NORD property developers, the Trans Siberian Pit Stops architecture competition is looking for designs for an instantly recognisable structure that would become a part of this iconic attraction, fitting in with the history and identity of one of the most well-travelled routes in the world.

There is no specific site selected for this competition, however the winning proposals that will be considered for construction will be situated at various locations along the rail network. Therefore the winning designs will need to be easily replicated into identical structures, and comfortably fit into one work station that can be situated in multiple locations and function in all weather conditions.

The Trans Siberian Pit Stop’s main function would be to provide the most essential information about the area that particular stop is located in. This would include information about nearby tourist attractions, provide assistance to tourists, as well as information on local accommodation options.

Since the winning designs for this architecture competition will be considered for construction, they will need to show a strong identity that is easily recognised along the transsiberian train network. The Trans Siberian Pit Stops architecture competition is a chance for architecture enthusiasts to combine the rich cultural history of this iconic train route with modern architecture techniques, to create something that will become a part of this world famous landmark.

PRIZES

3 winning proposals and 6 honourable mentions will be selected. Bee Breeders will award a total of US $5,000 in prize money to competition winners as follows:

1st Prize - US $3,000

2nd Prize - US $1,500

3rd Prize - US $500

+ 6 honourable mentions

Student Award - US $500
Green Award - US $500

CDS NORD Property Developers // www.cdsnord.com // have committed to construct the first Trans Siberian Pit Stop at the start of 2018 with all winning designs to be put forward for consideration for the final design of the pit stop.

The winners will get international art and design media coverage and will be featured on the Bee Breeders website.
