The ASA Experimental Design Competition this year invites participants to explore creative solutions that respond to “senses” in today's urban life.

The essence of human experience lies in the five senses, which shape our perception of the world around us. In Bangkok, Thailand these senses are vividly expressed, creating a vibrant tapestry of urban life. This competition seeks to explore the intersection of sensory experience and urban design, using Bangkok as a case study to inspire innovative solutions for future cities.

‘Sensing Architecture’ possibilities :

• Explore the role of sensory experience in shaping urban environments.

• Anticipate the impact of digital technologies, such as the Metaverse and AI, on urban living.

• Foster creativity and innovation in urban design that transcends conventional boundaries.

• Address the evolving needs and desires of urban dwellers through sensory-focused solutions.

Participants are tasked with envisioning the future of urban living through the lens of sensory experience. Drawing inspiration from Bangkok's dynamic streetscape, they are encouraged to think beyond traditional constraints and embrace the potential of emerging technologies. Submissions may take various forms, including architectural designs, interactive installations, digital simulations, and conceptual frameworks.
