OBJECTIVE

The objective of this competition is to challenge and inspire architects, designers, and visionaries to redefine the future of residential architecture. With a focus on innovation, sustainability, and adaptability, this competition invites participants to envision and design the ultimate homes for the year 2124.

THE BUILDING PROGRAMME

Participants are tasked with designing a residential dwelling for the year 2124. The dwelling should cater to the needs of a family, considering elements such as living spaces, bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, and any other essential components of a contemporary home. Additionally, participants are encouraged to explore and incorporate cutting-edge technologies, automation, and spaces that promote well-being and connectivity within the family unit.

SITE

The site selection is at the discretion of the participant. You may choose any location, be it urban, suburban, rural, or even a site that reflects a unique, futuristic environment. Please provide detailed site information, including its geographical, climatic, and topographical conditions, as well as any specific contextual factors that influenced your design.


DESIGN FLEXIBILITY

Innovative thinking is highly encouraged. Participants have the freedom to experiment with architectural styles, materials, and spatial configurations. The competition promotes an open-minded approach to design, allowing for creativity while keeping practicality and functionality in mind.


SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is a key focus of this competition. Designs should be environmentally responsible, energy-efficient, and designed to minimize the carbon footprint. Consider renewable energy sources, water conservation, and the use of eco-friendly materials. Incorporate elements that adapt to changing climate conditions and promote sustainable living.


PROJECT PROPOSAL REQUIREMENT

  • Conceptual Design: Present a detailed conceptual design of the residential dwelling. This should include floor plans, elevations, sections, and any other necessary architectural drawings.

  • Sustainability and Environmental Considerations: Explain how your design incorporates sustainability and environmental considerations. Provide information on energy-efficient features, use of renewable energy sources, waste management, and any other eco-friendly aspects.

  • Innovation and Technology: Describe the innovative technologies and smart solutions integrated into your design. How do these technologies enhance the living experience and address future needs?

  • Site Analysis: Present a comprehensive analysis of your chosen site, including geographic and climatic factors that influenced your design.

  • Renderings and Visualizations: Provide high-quality renderings, visualizations, and any other graphical representations that help convey the design's aesthetics and functionality.

  • Narrative: Include a narrative explaining the inspiration and concept behind your design. Describe how your design caters to the needs and aspirations of a 22nd-century family.

  • Design Statement: A design statement summarizing the key features and innovations in your design.

  • Honourable mention: Certificate + Publication.

  • Advance Registration Deadline: 3rd February 2024

  • Standard Registration Deadline: 3rd June 2024

  • Evaluation Period: (Internal jury) – 20th July 2024 – 30th July 2024; 

    (External jury) – 31st July 2024 – 15th August 2024

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Participants are required to submit the following materials:

  • Design sheets (2 -5) jpeg. / jpg. Format. (dimension: 30cm x 30cm,  file size: 25mb)

  • Design description with a title (Min. 300 words) – docx. / docs. Format

JURY 

We collaborate with leading architects, designers, and academicians of international repute to participate as jury members in our competitions.


EIGIBILITY

The competition is open to architects, designers, artists, and creative thinkers from around the world. Participants can enter as individuals or in teams (max. 4 members in one team).
