Forum ”Architecture and Nature” set the assignment during the work of “ArchMoscow 2010” exhibition.
The objective is to develop the design of a light-weight pavilion or some exhibition stands design made of environmentally safe materials. The ecological sustainability development conception of Moscow Northern administrative district (park “Druzhba” together with Rechnoy Vokzal area) is to be worked out as well.
The assignment is a selection round that provides the participants with the opportunity to take part in the international workshop that is to be held at the beginning of October, 2010 in Moscow. (including accommodation and meals; the 9-17th of October)
The competion results will be displayed in the Northern district of the capital on Moscow City Day celebration in September, 2010.
Besides, there is going to be an interdisciplinary scientific conference with architectural exhibitions in October. Presentations of the participants of the workshop are to take place at “Manezh” international festival “Zodchestvo”and during International Day of Architecture celebrations.
Forum “Architecture and nature” will be represented at World UIA Congress in Tokyo, 2011 by means of young architects’ projects, presentations, reports and debates at Congress events as well as in expositions of UAR.
Each Participant is expected to carry out the assignment that comprises four parts.
- To elicit area points of attraction (recreation places, entertainment, historical and cultural objects) and mark these objects on the general area map.
- To propose an ecologically sustainable option for the development of this area.
- To propose a place on a general planning scheme where it can be possible to display temporary exposition with works made by Forum participants. Be able to give reasons for your decision.
- To propose a sketch of a stand construction for the exposition at the chosen lot.

Forum “ARCHITECTURE AND NATURE” is supported by UAR, UMA, Moscomarchitecture, UIA, IAA, International Association of UA, Non-profit Partnership “Guild of professionals of landindustry”, Council on ecologically sustainable development of UAR, Moscow Municipal Duma and Council of Moscow Northern administrative district.
Key architects and professors of architectural Universities expressed a desire to participate in the project.
The objective of the present long-term extensive project is to learn ways to develop urban public and green spaces with the aim to work out an effective methodology of creating architectural urban area that will be qualitative, ecologically sustainable and convenient for people.
