Public spaces, safer places - designing in counter terrorism

Targeted at architecture students as well as those from other design disciplines this project aims to draw attention to the issues of security and counter-terrorism in the process of designing places visited and used by the public.

Developed by the RSA, the Home Office, the National Counter Terrorism Security Office and the Royal Institute of British Architects, the brief asks for design responses for a public space in the aftermath of a fictitious terrorist attack scenario in the heart of a major European city.
