Leo Marmol, FAIA, is Managing Partner of the architect-led design-build practice Marmol Radziner, founded in 1989 with Ron Radziner, FAIA. Based in Los Angeles with offices in San Francisco and New York, the firm is known for its innovative approach that includes architecture, construction, landscape, interiors, and furniture. Since its inception, the firm has developed a reputation for innovative design, sustainable architecture, and prolific restoration work. As Managing Partner, Leo oversees all aspects of the firm’s design-build capabilities and supervises the company’s construction process.
With a passion for mid-century Modern architecture, Leo has worked to restore many historic architectural icons in Southern California. Noteworthy examples include Richard Neutra’s Kaufmann, Lew, Brown, Sten, and Kronish houses, R.M. Schindler’s Elliot and Kings Road houses, and Minoru Yamasaki’s Century Plaza Hotel.
Marmol Radziner’s unique business practice and commitment to design excellence was rewarded with the honor of being named the American Institute of Architects California Council’s 2004 Firm of the Year. In 2007, Leo was elevated to the College of the Fellows of the American Institute of Architects.
Leo received his Bachelor of Architecture with a Minor in Philosophy from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California.
