Join us for an evening with Monica Lamela, as part of our Environmental Design Spring Guest Lecture Series. This in-person event will take place on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 7:00 PM at Otis College of Art and Design.

Monica Lamela is the founding principal of There There, a design and research practice located in Los Angeles, Mexico City, and Madrid.

Through architectures, counternarratives, and fictions they challenge dominant worldviews, create alternative visions, and catalyze meaningful experiences.

“Believing in the transformative potential of architecture, we are immersed through each of our processes in a perpetual search for a more just, inclusive and caring world.”

The work of There There includes built and ongoing projects in California, Mexico, UK, Germany, Austria, and Spain. Their projects, collaborations and research have been recognized with the AIA Next LA Award, Architect's Newspaper Best of Design Award, Europan competition, Architecture + Design Museum of Los Angeles Design Awards, the AIAS Research Honor Award, and the SEED Award for Excellence in Public Interest Design.
