Questionable History

Sunday, Aug 21, 20164 PM — Wednesday, Nov 30, 20165 PMPDT

The Wende Museum: 5741 Buckingham Parkway, Suite E Culver City, CA, US Culver City, CA, US | The Wende Museum: 5741 Buckingham Parkway, Suite E

Art and history museums present their knowledge to a wider public. But what is the basis of this knowledge? Normally museum visitors do not have a clue what historical questions, interpretations, methodologies, theories, and paradigms inform a relatively simple museum wall text or tombstone. In this exhibition, objects from the collection of the Wende Museum will be presented to discuss what we do not know, for instance because of a lack of essential information or because of a variety of available sources that contradict each other. The exhibition allows the visitors a unique look inside museum practices.

Opening reception:

Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 4 pm - 6 pm
With remarks by Chief Curator Joes Segal

Parking is available in designated spots or on the street.

Please RSVP to [email protected]
