Marking the 100th Anniversary of architect Alfred Browning Parker's birth, this exhibition will celebrate his rich and prolific life through original drawings, archival photographs, models , and furnishings. A famed Miami architect, Parker was a student of the tropics, commmited to the sanctity of landscape and region, and the thoughtful use of resources. The Discipline of Nature illuminates Parker's evolving work and use of natural principles, forms , and materials to create an organic structure for his projects. Come explore his 60-year career and the organic tropicalist designs that made him a modernist regional leader and a national icon.
Join curators Allan Shulman and Randolph C. Henning in a conversation that will bring to light the indelible impact the work modernist architect Alfred Browning Parker had on Florida's built landscape.
