Clayton Korte, the nationally recognized architecture and interiors firm, will celebrate the release of its first monograph with an evening event at MYLR Bookstore and Gallery. The book, published by Oscar Riera Ojeda Publishers, focuses on the acclaimed Hill Country Wine Cave project and explores the firm’s design philosophy emphasizing context, craft, and sustainability.
Nestled on a Texas ranch property along a secluded river bend, the Hill Country Wine Cave recedes gracefully into the landscape, taking advantage of an existing limestone hillside excavation. Shielded by oak and elm trees and integrated with native boulders and vegetation, the cave creates a discreet, almost mysterious entrance. Its design offers subterranean prospect and refuge, allowing visitors to experience the surrounding landscape from a protected interior.
The evening begins at 5:30 PM with a cocktail reception featuring wines poured by Epoch Estate Wines, followed by a presentation highlighting the Hill Country Wine Cave and select Central Coast projects. The conversation, led by James Beard Award-winning author Jordan Mackay, will include a Q&A with the project team—architects Brian Korte and Cam Greenlee, and structural engineer Michael Parolini of Buehler Engineering—and will also cover some of the firm’s recent winery and residential work in California’s Central Coast.
From 6:45 – 9:00 PM, attendees can enjoy wine pouring and a book signing in the gallery.
