Event Description: image Design Week LA now comes fortified with... comics! A panel of outstanding local artists who are inspired by both comic books and graphic design will gather at Meltdown Comics on Friday, October 15th, at 7 p.m. for a discussion on comics and design. Among the participants are noted rock poster illustrator Coop, whose popular "Coop" font is distributed by House Industries. Comics and design historian Michael Dooley will moderate the discussion. This event is organized and sponsored by AIGA LA. Panelists Include: * Tales to Suffice artist and graphic design pro, Kenny Keil. * Famed rock poster designer and Kustom Kulture Artist, Coop. * Mail Order Bride artist and animation designer, Mark Kalesniko. * Creator of Agitainment Comics, Rick Ross. Moderated by: Michael Dooley, professor Design History at Art Center College of Design, UCLA Extension, and Loyola Marymount and Woodbury Universities. He is also a Print contributing editor and writes on art and design for a variety of publication. Admission: AIGA Members: $5 (Price doubles a week before event) Non-Members: $10 (Price doubles a week before the event) Registration at the door $25 Members/Non-Members Food truck will be onsite. Ta Bom!! means It’s Good!! in Portuguese. The First & ONLY Brazilian Food Truck in Los Angeles. Experience great Brazilian taste! Parking: There is some free parking in the back but limited.
