Michael Ra, Materialistics Wednesday November 16th, 20116 PM Reinsch-Pearce Family Auditorium, School of Architecture, Georgia Tech Michael Ra lectures widely on building skin systems, materiality, highlighting explorations to better the process of designing, making and building. This expertise comes from his background of education and professional practice. Ra graduated with Bachelor of Architecture degree with High Honors from the Illinois Institute of Technology,then worked with Dewhurst Macfarlane and Partners to develop the innovations of structural glass applied in the first Apple stores in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles before co-founding and co-partnering Front, a design and façade consulting firm. Projects of the firm have included high performance envelope systems for the Walker Art Center, the Toledo Museum of Art, World Trade Center Pavilion, St Louis Art Museum, Highline 23 Condominiums, CMA Tower and KAUST.
