This edition of Bustler's curated picks of noteworthy architecture and design competitions features four calls that are all from AIANY/Center for Architecture. They seek exceptional residential interior projects by New York City-based architects, emerging or mid-career architects looking to develop their research and practice through travel, outstanding architectural design across all scales, and projects that address various contemporary architectural issues.

AIANY Interiors Residential Review
Registration/Submission Deadline: Friday, September 20, 2024

"The AIANY Interiors Committee is proud to announce its 7th annual Residential Review, showcasing the best work in residential interior projects by New York City-based architects. Projects selected from the entries will be on display in showrooms in SoHo, from October 9–31, 2024, with a reception on the evening of Tuesday, October 9 from 6–8pm."

Stewardson Keefe LeBrun Travel Grant
Registration/Submission Deadline: Monday, October 7, 2024

"This grant is awarded to further the personal and professional development of an architect in early or mid career through travel. Travel plans should be focused on a selected topic of interest to the individual rather than as part of a larger humanitarian or institutional endeavor. If appropriate, the winner may be asked to present at the Center for Architecture upon return."

Projects should consider the impacts of built design, addressing issues including ecological stewardship and social responsibility."

"This grant furthers advanced study in any area of architectural investigation that will effectively contribute to the knowledge, teaching, or practice of the art and science of architecture. The proposed investigation is to result in a final written work, design project, research paper, or other form of presentation."
