The Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize finalists for Cycle 5 have been announced via a live event held at the Anahuacalli Museum in Mexico City.

Jurors Dirk Denison, Maurice Cox, Giovanna Borasi, Mauricio Rocha, Gregg Pasquarelli, and Sofía von Ellrichshausen chose five projects completed between June 2022 and December 2023. Their selection includes projects from the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Argentina.

In making the announcement, Denison stated: "This cycle, we have been inspired by the striking presence of each of the finalists, and their inventive responses to distinctive social and environmental contexts. But these projects show us that it’s not only design leading the way. We also recognize the individuals and organizations who have made a commitment to architecture’s contribution through the civic and cultural initiatives behind these works."

This year’s cycle will culminate in the final $50,000 MCHAP Award winner being announced via a symposium held at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago on May 5th.

Each of the projects is detailed below. A look at 53 Outstanding Projects winners for Cycle 5 can also be found here.
