Award Winners at the 2010 World Architecture Festival

World Building of the Year: MAXXI, National Museum of XXI Century Arts, Rome, Italy by Zaha Hadid Architects, United Kingdom

The World Architectiure Festival had big industry names congregate to Barcelona for a plethora of events last week. Part of the annual festival program is the announcement of the WAF Award Winners. The grand title of World Building of the Year went to the Zaha Hadid-designed MAXXI museum in Rome, Italy which also won the acclaimed 2010 Stirling Prize earlier this fall.

Following is the list of the 2010 award winners.

Future Project of the Year: The Arc, Palestinian Occupied Territory by Suisman Urban Design, USA
Interiors and Fit Out of the Year: ANZ Centre, Melbourne, Australia by HASSELL, Australia
Structural Design of the Year: V&A Medieval & Renaissance Galleries, London, United Kingdom by MUMA, United Kingdom
AECOM + URBAN SOS Transformations student competition: Robin Bankert, Michael Murphy, Caroline Shannon and Joseph Wilfong; University of Harvard
