Now in its 8th year, the best architects award just announced its winners. Organized annually, the program recognizes outstanding architectural design in the German-speaking countries Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the South Tyrol province of Italy.

The three competition jurors Prof. Johannes Käferstein (Zurich, Switzerland), Ansgar Schulz (Leipzig, Germany) and Johann Traupman (Vienna, Austria) reviewed 455 submissions and selected 106 works for the label 'best architects 14.' Nine projects received the highest honor 'best architects 14 Gold.'

All awarded projects will be featured with plans and photos in the upcoming publication best architects14, to be released this fall by Düsseldorf-based publishing house zinnobergruen. Last year's book, best architects 13, won the prestigious red dot award: communication design.

Following are the nine Gold award winners.
