Curator-led tour of The Return of the Past exhibition | 27 July

Hear from Owen Hopkins, Sir John Soane Museum's Senior Curator, as he leads a 45 minute tour of the museum's current exhibition, The Return of the Past: Postmodernism in British Architecture. Find out about the radical Postmodern movement through the curator's insights into the exhibition's models, drawings, and fragments of buildings.

Art Bus Tour of Kensington & Chelsea - West London Galleries Bus Tour IX | 28-29 July

This special red double decker bus service will stop at 20 locations across the 'land of contemporary art, culture', Kensington & Chelsea. Free, and the regularity of the bus service allows you a 30 minute stop in each place, before jumping on another.

V&A Friday Late: Mirror Mirror | 27 July

Questioning what society finds attractive, and how we react to this, this art late will showcase artists defining beauty for themselves. From political to playful, discover how beauty can be used as a tool.

Spiritland Talks: Tom Dixon | 26 July

Leading designers will be discussing their work between playing their favourite tracks in this new series of special evening events hosted by New London Architecture at Spiritland (King's Cross). At this, the first in the series, guests will enjoy a tour of Tom Dixon's new studios, followed by a three-course meal and a conversation about the designer's work and the music that has inspired him.

Uniqlo Tate Lates | 27 July

This Uniqlo Tate Late takes inspiration from the exhibition 'Shape of Light'. There will be the usual mix of music, food, art, and workshops on offer, including a photomontage workshop and a talk from leading photographer Antony Cairns.

Design Quest: Ways of Seeing - 5 day creative architecture workshop for children | 30 July - 3 August

If you have children to entertain this summer, make sure that you enrol them on next week's 5-day workshop at the RIBA. They will be tasked with exploring the architecture around them and the idea of perspective and optical illusion. Colourful drawings, models, and collages will teach them about representing the 3D world.
