Earlier this week, the CTBUH made a slew of announcements that revealed the recipients of the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award, the 10 Year Award of Excellence, as well as five new Fellows.

The CTBUH Board of Trustees presented the Lynn S. Beedle Lifetime Achievement Award to James Goettsch, the Chairman and Co-CEO for leading architecture practice Goettsch Partners, in recognition of his industry leadership and his innovation in response to challenging project site constraints and client briefs. The Fazlur R. Khan Lifetime Achievement Award was given to pre-eminent structural engineer Israel David for his significant contributions in the engineering of tall buildings. His expertise is used in nearly all tall-building projects in Israel.

As for the 10 Year Award, which recognizes the value and successful performance of a tall building project over the last decade, three buildings were selected:

  • Broadcasting Place, Leeds
  • Linked Hybrid, Beijing
  • Pinnacle@Duxton, Singapore

Last but not least, five new Fellows were recognized for their ongoing contributions and leadership within the CTBUH over the years. They are:

  • Kwang Ryang Chung, Dong Yang Structural Engineers
  • Roy Denoon, CPP Wind Engineers
  • Hashimah Hashim, KLCC Property Holdings
  • Jiemin Ding, Group Chief Engineer, TJAD
  • Kui Zhuang, CCDI
