An impressive lineup of 83 buildings shortlisted for the 2019 RIBA London Awards was announced today by the Royal Institute of British Architects.

The array of selected works includes some well publicized projects from prolific firms such as Heatherwick Studio, David Chipperfield Architects, or Allford Hall Monaghan Morris and also features new work by some of last year's London Award winners, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, Piercy&Company, 31/44 Architects, Chris Dyson Architects, or Hawkins\Brown.

Noticeable this year is the strong presence of adaptive-reuse projects as well as heritage preservation and transformation.

All shortlisted buildings are now in the running for RIBA's Regional and National Awards and could, potentially, snatch the coveted Stirling Prize in October.

Read on for the full shortlist and a small selection of project photos.

What are those neon lights on Neuron Pod? Interesting design.

  • Gary Garvin ·  Mar 19, 19 8:44 PM

There are several attractive buildings here. I especially like Vauxhall Urbanest, Glenn Howells Architects:

    https://glennhowells.co.uk/pro...

Such a simple statement, yet with body and distinction.

The Neuron Pod, of course, is a hoot, though from this view I feel like I'm staring at the rear end of a porcupine:
