Pitch Your Design that Transforms Public Spaces at SXSW 2020
Register/Submit Deadline:  Friday, Nov 22, 2019

Place by Design, SXSW’s pitch competition aimed at showcasing urbanists, artists, architects, and designers' scalable solutions for improving public spaces and shared landscapes. Place by Design is open to any kind of design work that rethinks or transforms public spaces. Finalists will be selected by the degree of impact their work has on the community. Designers or teams will pitch their work in a fast-paced competition followed by a Q&A session with the judges at SXSW 2020.

CFP - DICHOTOMY ISSUE 25 - SOIL
Register/Submit Deadline:  Sunday, Dec 1, 2019

The University Of Detroit Mercy School Of Architecture is conducting a call for entries for the 25th edition of Dichotomy: SOIL. Dichotomy invites you to define what perspective grounds you in soil. Submissions should consider soil as a response to the growth, prosperous, developable, polluted, and/or divided earth that is the foundation of our built environment, as well as its relation to the discourse of architecture, urbanism, design, and the arts.

Harvard GSD - Wheelwright Prize 2020
Register/Submit Deadline:  Sunday, Jan 26, 2020

The Harvard Graduate School of Design (Harvard GSD) is pleased to announce the 2020 cycle of the Wheelwright Prize, an open international competition that awards $100,000 to a talented early-career architect to support expansive, intensive design research. The winning architect is expected to dedicate roughly two years of concentrated research related to their proposal, and to return to Harvard GSD to present a lecture on their findings.

Salt-pan house
Registration Deadline:  Thursday, Jan 30, 2020
Submission Deadline:  Friday, Jan 31, 2020

The goal of the competition is to stop further ruin of one of the remaining salt-pan houses at Sečovlje Salina Nature Park (Slovenia) while using a new intervention to form a spatial model of cultural heritage preservation in the southern area of the salt-pans. The entrants should design a temporary spatial intervention that will be installed on the site of a salt-pan house.
