The Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis has announced the recipients of its 2022 Awards for Distinction.

The annual program recognizes the school’s alumni who are leaders in their fields and have exhibited professional achievement in architecture, art, and design, along with service to their profession, the community, or the Sam Fox School and Washington University.

Philadelphia-based architecture firm KieranTimberlake will receive the school’s highest accolade, the Dean’s Medal, which honors individuals or groups whose contributions have elevated the fields of art, architecture, and design. KieranTimberlake is being awarded for its work on Washington University’s East End Transformation, a reimagining of the school’s East End of the Danforth Campus, which included Weil Hall, the new art and architecture building for the Sam Fox School. Five of the eight primary components of the project were designed by KieranTimberlake and completed in 2019.

The following eight Sam Fox School alumni will also be recognized:

Awards for Distinction

Andrew Bernheimer, FAIA, MArch94
Jill Downen, MFA01, Nicholas Kahn, BFA86, and Richard Selesnick, BFA86
Kate Dundes Shattan, BA77

Recent Alumni Award

Adam Hogan, PhD, MFA14
Frank Lin, MArch06, and Megan Harris Lin, MArch06

Recipients will be honored at the annual Awards for Distinction ceremony on April 21.
