International Accessibility Symbol Design Competition
Register/Submit Deadline: Friday, Mar 25, 2022
"The International Union of Architects (UIA) and Rehabilitation International (RI) are jointly inviting submissions for a twenty-first century symbol of accessibility to represent their core values of rights and inclusion, independence, physical and virtual accessibility for all, including people with disabilities. The challenge is therefore to develop a new symbol of accessibility that better represents the variety of people who use buildings and other types of built environments. The competition invites professional architects and graphic designers as well as architectural and graphic design students to design a new graphic symbol of accessibility, to be proposed to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for adoption as the new international symbol of accessibility."

Mark Baines Illustration Competition
Register/Submit Deadline: Friday, Apr 8, 2022
"The Alexander Thomson Society is delighted to announce the ‘Remembering Mark Baines’ Biennial Architectural Illustration Competition. The late Mark Baines was a founding member and Chair of the Society, an architect, and teacher of architecture at the Macintosh School of Architecture. He continually emphasised the importance of drawing architecture and was never without a sketchbook. The brief for the architectural illustration competition is to create, using pencil, ink or paint, an architectural interpretation and celebration of a building of your choice. Quite simply a beautiful drawing or painting."

Registration Deadline: Sunday, Apr 17, 2022
Submission Deadline: Sunday, May 22, 2022
"DPA-X, Dominique Perrault Architecture’s research department, is partnering with Indigo Group to launch this international architecture competition [...] Open to young architects under 40 years of age, registered alone or in a team, “Carpark Futures Competition” invites architecture professionals to question the architectural, urban, technical and environmental potential of a revalorization of underground parking lots, through the study of the Euralille site in northern France. The candidates will have to propose a series of architectural interventions in response to new practices related to mobility, urban logistics and, more broadly, to changes in lifestyles and consumer habits."
