The AIANY’s selection of 2024 AIA New York Design Awards winners was announced this week from the Center for Architecture. A total of 22 projects representing the most exceptional contributions by members of the chapter to the built environment were chosen by a jury that included Harvard GSD professor Mark Lee and six others. Winners were divided into four categories (Architecture, Interiors, Projects, and Urban Design) with Honor, Merit, and Citation designations given across each.

Seminal local projects such as Studio Gang’s new Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation at the American Museum of Natural History and the new Perelman Performing Arts Center from REX and Davis Brody Bond were given equal stag alongside designs for affordable housing, a brewery, small cabin, and a space for a not-for-profit arts center in New Haven.

Each winner will be honored later at the AIANY’s Honors and Awards Luncheon taking place on April 12. The Center for Architecture will then host an exhibition of the winning projects beginning Thursday, May 2, and remaining on view through September 3.
