RIBA AHR Scholarship
Registration/Submission Deadline: Friday, June 14, 2024

"The scholarship aims to address a perceived lack of inclusivity at the Part 2 stage of the professional qualification in architecture by supporting talented students who have demonstrated commitment to their studies and to the profession, who might struggle to cover the costs associated with their course. The scholarship wishes to support students from low-income households by awarding one scholarship of £7,000 to one student throughout their RIBA Part 2 course in the UK."

INTERNATIONAL DESIGN COMPETITION for the New GANGBUK-GU Government Office Complex

"Through the construction of the new Gangbuk-gu office complex, the aim is to consolidate dispersed public administrative facilities to enhance resident access and convenience, and provide improved public administrative services through one-stop administrative services. [...] The new Gangbuk-gu office complex is intended to be an administrative complex town, supplying the necessary living social overhead capital (SOC) that is lacking in Gangbuk-gu. It aims to increase cultural opportunities for local residents, serve as a community space that provides various social contact opportunities unlike the traditional ‘government office,’ and foster regional economic vitality by creating a distinctive space that supports youth activities and startups."

Norman Foster Foundation - KHARKIV HOUSING CHALLENGE

"The Norman Foster Foundation KHARKIV HOUSING CHALLENGE seeks solutions that bridge the gap between innovative design and practical application. The task is to develop a modular system capable of retrofitting existing concrete panel housing blocks and enhancing public spaces, focusing on creating safe, energy-efficient, and vibrant neighbourhoods. Modular facade and roof components, bomb shelters, and integrating additional uses in ground floors should be considered as part of the intervention. The system should also provide solutions to re-erect severely damaged buildings with a renewed, yet locally rooted, architectural identity."

"The American Institute of Steel Construction’s Innovative Design in Engineering and Architecture with Structural Steel (IDEAS²) Award program recognizes projects that illustrate the exciting possibilities of building with structural steel. We’re looking for exceptional projects that demonstrate how domestically fabricated structural steel fosters superior: Engineering excellence, Architectural excellence, Adaptive reuse, Sustainability, and Constructibility."
