A8 Design Center Competition | Wuhan Highline Park & Landscape Structure

"In this competition jointly initiated by A8 Design Center, Wide Horizon Landscape Center, and Wide Horizon Wuhan Division, it is expected that through the transformation of the existing municipal ramp bridge and the design of the landscape structure connected to it, after the municipal traffic function of the ramp bridge is cancelled in the future, it can be converted into an aerial urban greenway in the large park system, and further through the vertical traffic line of the landscape structure, a connection between the urban elevated greenway interface and the ground park can be formed. With the elevated bridge park and the landscape structure as anchor nodes, a flexible conversion and connection from the rapid urban traffic interface to the ground park system can be achieved, creating a user-friendly activity space, and becoming a display interface for the city's riverside expressway."

"Greetings From..." Postcard Competition

"In tandem with our 2024 festival theme, Tracing the Future, Archtober invites you to cast a visionary gaze towards what lies ahead. Create a design for a postcard that is representative of the New York City you envision. Perhaps you imagine a focus on sensorial living or biophilic workspaces, or maybe you have an idea around accessible design or mass timber — whatever it is, we want to see! Three winning designs will be selected by the jury and announced in late September. Postcards will be printed and distributed at the Center for Architecture throughout the month of October 2024. All are invited to submit—architects, illustrators, design enthusiasts, etc."

Green Olympics & Green Product Awards 2025
Registration/Submission Deadline: Saturday, November 16, 2024

"The Green Product Awards 2025 are calling on companies and start-ups to submit their sustainable products and services under the motto 'Green Olympics' by 16 November. For the first time, submissions will be initially checked with regard to the regulations of the Green New Deal (e.g. Green Claims Directive, Ecodesign Directive). A report provides participants with information on the conformity of their project with future directives and necessary measures. The report also contains optimization tips for the submissions."

2025 Design for Freedom Competition: Ethical and Equitable Materiality to End Forced Labor
Registration Deadline: Wednesday, April 9, 2025
Submission Deadline: Wednesday, June 4, 2025

"The competition is intended to challenge students, working individually or in teams, to explore how architectural materials research and design can eliminate forced labor in the building materials supply chain — to explore and propose how architects can work to eradicate forced and child labor from the built environment."
