Four finalists for this year’s Royal Academy Dorfman Prize were selected today as part of the yearly £10,000 ($13,000 USD) honor, which crowns the best new practices and talent in the architectural field.

The international group of contenders was selected by a jury chaired by 6a architects founders Tom Emerson and Stephanie Macdonald. Each will vie for the chance to be selected as the overall winner at a special ceremony that's being held in late October at the Academy's Benjamin West Lecture Theatre in London.

The four shortlisted practices for this year's Dorfman Prize are:

  • b+ (Germany)
  • Livyi Bereh (Ukraine)
  • Salima Naji (Morocco)
  • TEN (Switzerland and Serbia)

Vicky Richardson, the Head of Architecture and Heinz Curator at the Royal Academy of Arts, commented on the finalists: "The Dorfman Prize is about identifying exciting architecture from around the world by practices and individuals who are often working outside the mainstream and forging a new direction."

The 2024 winner follows last year's recipient Gabriela Carrillo. Be sure to come back to find out who's crowned the winner in the fall.
