The 15th edition of the Architecture & Design Film Festival (ADFF) commences next week in New York City as part of Archtober with a packed slate of programming that showcases architecture as an important social endeavor and broad-reaching intellectual nexus wherein “visionary concepts, sustainable solutions, cultural narratives, and personal journeys converge.”

From October 12–14 at the iconic Angelika Theater in Manhattan, a total of 19 screenings will take place, led by the opening night premiere of Modernism, Inc, a 75-minute exploration of Eliot Noyes’ iconic career and impact on corporate America. Other highlights include a look at the life of the late Pritzker Prize-winner B.V. Doshi, Fabrizio Fiumi, Mies van der Rohe, Chandigarh, and Soviet-era bus shelters. The 20th anniversary of Nathaniel Kahn’s Oscar-nominated My Architect will be celebrated as well.

“When programming the festival, we usually don’t have a goal in mind other than presenting the best films possible and that certainly is the case this year,” shared ADFF Founder and Director Kyle Bergman. “Themes emerged during the process including the ever-present topic of climate change, a spotlight on architecture in South Asia, and prominent women in architecture.”

The ADFF will continue its tour with stops in Toronto from November 1–4; Vancouver from November 9–12; and Chicago from January 31st to February 4th of next year. Discussions and Q&A sessions with several filmmakers and special guests will be included as part of the programming.

A full schedule of film screenings can be found here.
