The AIA New York Center for Architecture presents The Fourth Regional Plan exhibition opening next Thursday, July 26 2018. The show features the Regional Plan Association's long-range strategic plan for the New York Metropolitan Area. Published in 2017, the RPA's Fourth Regional Plan was created to help elected officials, policymakers, and advocates plan for the region’s future. Previous plans have been released in the 1920s, 1960s, and 1990s.

The plan includes an expansive vision and particular recommendations to promote prosperity, equity, health, and sustainability for the future generation. This fourth plan was the product of five years of research and public engagement with a wide range of stakeholders participating in the planning effort. An inclusive plan formed by community members, civic organizations, business groups, and public officials will be on display in this exhibition running through November 2018.

The opening event is free to the public, however depending on attendance and venue capacity an RSVP does not guarantee entry. You can also download the full plan here.
