Tuesday, Mar 24, 2015

A design team is yet to be determined for Waterfront Toronto's Jack Layton Ferry Terminal and Harbour Square Park Innovative Design Competition. The winning proposal will become part of a multi-phase masterplan for the region, as funding and budget become available over time.

Five teams -- which all consist of at least one locally based firm -- were invited this past January to compete. They are:

  • Stoss Landscape Urbanism + nARCHITECTS + ZAS Architects
  • Diller Scofidio+Renfro + architectsAlliance + Hood Design
  • Clement Blanchet Architecture + RVTR + Batlle i Roig
  • KPMB Architects + West 8 + Greenberg Consultants
  • Quadrangle Architects + aLL Design + Janet Rosenberg & Studio

The public had the opportunity to share feedback on the proposals in an online survey. The comments will now be summarized into a report that will be delivered to the competition jury, in addition to the reports from the Stakeholder Advisory Committee and Technical Advisory Committee.
