Next month in New York City, an exhibition celebrating the 20th anniversary of Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s seminal The Gates installation will once again capture the creative spirit and essence of their work using AR technology.

Taking place at The Shed from February 12th to May 23rd, Christo and Jeanne-Claude: The Gates and Unrealized Projects for New York City also features some of the heralded French duo’s never-realized visions for wrapping several of Manhattan’s office towers from the late-1970s. Visitors will be able to experience the sight of The Gates anew via the Bloomberg Connects app, seeing (or re-seeing) their Central Park placement in full thrall as they originally there stood beginning in the winter of 2005.

The exhibition is being curated by Pascal Roulin. Christo passed away in 2020 following his wife's death in 2009.
