After a successful first exhibition at Berlin's Aedes Architekturforum in 2009, Austrian practice Marte.Marte architects is returning with a two-part exhibition called "Appearing Sculptural" that's opening on December 11 in Berlin.

Led by brothers Bernhard and Stefan Marte, the firm will showcase their upcoming schemes for the new Galerie Niederösterreich in the city of Krems, an exhibition center in Dornbirn, as well as their notable works from the past.

Read on for more.

"In their latest exhibition, marte.marte architects are working on the exhibition, documentation, and information center for the Federal Foundation Flight, Expulsion, Reconciliation.

In addition to this, the highly anticipated conversion of the historic Deutschlandhaus, located near the former Anhalter Bahnhof in Berlin-Kreuzberg, they will present their plans for Galerie Niederösterreich, a new museum to be built on the “Art Mile” of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Krems, as well as the new exhibition center in Dornbirn, whose statically demanding wooden support structure  represents the innovative wood building tradition in Vorarlberg."

"The second part of the exhibition takes a dynamic, cinematic approach to Marte.Marte’s past works, such as their award-winning mountain hut in Laterns and their bridge trilogy in Dornbirn.

In this audiovisual series created in collaboration with photographer and experimental filmmaker Andreas Waldschütz, Marte.Marte’s most sculptural works are unconventionally and sensually re-staged."
