C.F. Møller Architects had the winning scheme for Geysir, a new high-rise tower in Stockholm's booming tech district of Kista. According to the architects, the 15,000 m2 tower will comprise 13,000 m2 of housing and 2,000 m2 of retail space, along with green spaces, a food court on the lower levels, and more. Located in the heart of the neighborhood, the distinct tower will become a central meeting point for local residents in the district and throughout Stockholm. A final project timeline is yet to be announced.

The architects shared more details about their winning scheme below.

Project description: “The tower is divided into two volumes that differ in relation to each other. It gives the building a recognizable silhouette and ensures shelter on the green roof terrace. The facades simple selection of material in the form of terrazzo and tombac gives the building an elegant character.”

Geysir “combines the urban — in the shape of a lively ground floor — with green surroundings and the possibility of cultivating own crops. The roof of the tower will feature a green common roof terrace, while several of the apartments have their own balcony and panoramic view over Stockholm. Residents will be able to choose from a range of living units, which will be designed in various sizes and character.”

“The two lower floors of Geysir will form a food court that will feature a deli, café and restaurant, along with outdoor dining options with the adjoining green courtyard. The courtyard further gives residents and restaurateurs the possibility to grow their own crops. A low fence divides the courtyard between the public area and the area for the tower residents only. This will provide the residents with a sense of privacy while maintaining the visual contact.”
