Architects and product designers worldwide in The Baywatch Kit competition shared their ideas on designing a beach lifeguard watchtower kit. Participants had to follow a list of specific guidelines including enough seats for at least 2 lifeguards, an equipment storage wardrobe or box, a PA system, and easy accessibility for emergency responses, among other important features to help lifeguards do their job.
One top-prize winner -- who won a cash prize of €300/US$380 (sorry, no Baywatch cast members were included) and three Honorable Mentions were selected:
