Upcoming DesignDC to include roundtable discussion on school safety and design

Mark your calendars for the fast-approaching DesignDC, the annual conference of education and networking at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center (Sept. 25-26) and the District Architecture Center (Sept. 27) in Washington, DC. For three full days, visitors can attend numerous education sessions that will cover just about every aspect in design.

In light of a new school year, a significant topic in this year's conference is continuing the discussion on school safety. A roundtable discussion on Sept. 26 moderated by NPR radio journalist Kojo Nnamdi will feature four experts on school safety and design, with Nnamdi serving as the panel's "fifth expert." The experts--who work in the education, private, and public sectors--will offer their own perspectives on the issue.

Attendees will also get to check out a trade show exhibition and have access to over 60 tours, seminars and workshops that offer AIA, HSW, and GBCI continuing education credit.

All architecture and design practitioners and the general public are welcome to attend. Tickets are $25 per person. To purchase tickets, register for the conference or to find out more about the event, click here.
