The 2019 edition of the Australian Institute of Architects' regional NSW Architecture Awards recently came to a close with the big reveal of the winners. A total of 51 entries across 12 categories received named awards, awards, and commendations.
The big-time winner of this year's competition was the Maitland Riverlink. Designed by Chrofi with McGregor Coxall, the project won this year's honorable NSW Architecture Medallion as well as the Sulman Medal for Public Architecture and the Blacket Prize. Another big winner was the Green Square Library and Plaza by Studio Hollenstein in association with Stewart Architecture; it received the John Verge Award for Interior Architecture, the NSW Premier’s Prize, and awards in the Public Architecture and Urban Design categories.
Recipients of NSW Architecture named awards and awards will now advance to compete in the National Architecture Awards. National Award winners will be announced on November 7.
