What should happen to Philip Johnson's New York State Pavilion? Vote for your favorite ideas now!

What does the future hold for Philip Johnson's New York State Pavilion? Architects worldwide submitted their ideas of how the 1964-65 World's Fair icon can be repurposed in the New York State Pavilion Ideas Competition. Among recent efforts to preserve the landmark, the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the People for the Pavilion co-launched the global competition asking architects (and non-architects) how the pavilion can be revived into a contemporary public space. Before the competition-winning ideas are officially revealed in August, the public can vote now for the Fan Favorite until July 15!

The 250 submissions include a brewery, a Metro station, velodromes, drone arenas, and multiple museums of art and science, and cheeseburgers, to name a few. As these open idea competitions tend to show all too often, the possibilities are seemingly endless — from snarky to occasionally wacky. (Philip Johnson's opinion on these submissions is up to your imagination).

Feast your eyes on a few entries that caught our attention, including some rather interesting ones:
