America has voted. The Longwood Gardens in Philadelphia was announced today as America's Best Public Restroom. Organized by Cintas, the popular annual contest isn't just about voting for the prettiest restrooms. It also promotes the importance of public restroom hygiene and highlights businesses whose restrooms exhibit functional and design excellence.
Out of 10 finalists, Longwood Gardens won the public vote for the grand prize, which includes a complimentary Deep Clean of their restroom (valued up to $500) as well as $2,500 credit to spend on Cintas restroom cleaning services. The Bowl Plaza in Lucas, KS was voted into 2nd place, while The Fabulous Fox Theatre in St. Louis, MO took 3rd.
More details below.
"As the most visited public garden in America, Longwood Gardens is renowned for its grand horticulture displays. Now, the distinctive restrooms have become a national icon too. Along with the 'green wall' outside the restrooms, visitors find etched translucent glass inside that provides natural light, reduces electricity and minimizes the need for light fixtures. 'It’s the only restroom with its own docents!' said Longwood Gardens Chief Marketing Officer Marnie Conley."
This moment for Longwood Gardens is now cherished in Cintas’ America’s Best Restroom Hall of Fame.
