Winners of the 2017 Rethinking the Future Sustainability Awards

1st place - Public Building (Built): InsideOut School by Andrea Tabocchini & Francesca Vittorini.

Rethinking the Future's Sustainability Awards celebrate innovative sustainability projects by architects, designers, and students around the world. The 2017 competition attracted 486 registrations from more than 30 countries — a new all-time high in the competition's history.

In the end, the jury selected 15 category winners, including firms like Mecanoo, Aecom, and Henning Larsen Architects, to name a few. Check them out below.

1st place - Commercial (Built): 451 7th Avenue by DLR Group​.
1st place - Cultural (Built): Beicai Forest Park by Aecom.
1st place - Housing: V4, Self-Circulation Housing by Tai Yuan Huang.
1st place - Housing (Built): St. Andrews Institute of Technology and Management by Zero Energy Design Lab.
1st place - Housing (Concept): Micro-towers reinventing wood by Innovative Form + Construction Intelligence SUTD.
1st place - Interior - Corporate (Built): Design agency Van Berlo by Atelier van Berlo.
1st place - Interior - Residence (Built): The Noah's Ark by Li-Wei Kuo
1st place - Mixed Use: The Social Waves by David Kharisma Putra
1st place - Office Building (Concept): BCDA office tower by CAZA
1st place - Pop-Ups & Temporary (Concept): Building block house by Yamamoto Taiki.
1st place - Public Building (Built): InsideOut School by Andrea Tabocchini & Francesca Vittorini.
1st place - Public Building (Concept): Etobicoke Civic Center by Henning Larsen & Adamson Associates Architects (USA)
1st place - Residence (Built): Live Edge by Nathan Good Architects

1st place - Urban Design: Weaving Communities: A Bazaar Weekend by Samantha Ong
